Hello Lyn, I have truly enjoyed reading through your site and reading this interview really stuck a cord with me as a fellow Organic Mommypreneur. The market place has really been so flooded with the "Organic" concept that learning to believe in it seems like a hoax. However, as was cleverly stated the only true organic products are those labeled USDA 100% Certified Organic and they are genuinely chemical free!

Thanks, this was a good one!!

This article serves some valuable links and information.

Please forgive my amused response;
the title "more --big--green purse", is quite accurate if a comment states that $22.50 for a T-shirt is a reasonable price..
Yes, organic cotton does cost more and yes, the only responsible purchase must factor in the sustainable source of the product.

So, i do hope the big green purses create such a demand that organics will be supplied for less cost over time.
Disclaimer:
This zero consumer neither enters retail stores, nor receives catalogs or magazines.
Signed vintage store rose, having fun in thriftland.

Great info, as usual. Two things to add:

This article (http://www.wildsuccess.us/organic_what_does_it_mean.htm) spells out the differences in Organic labeling for food. It talks about Organic vs. Made with Organic Ingredients vs. 100% Organic.

Just got my LL Bean Women's catalog for Summer 2008 and I'm thrilled to see Organic Cotton Tees for $22.50! That's reasonable and price I can live with. Much cheaper than what is usually available!
